MFA Press Statement: Official Visit of Indian Minister of External Affairs S M Krishna to Singapore, 25-26 March 2010

Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India S M Krishna will visit Singapore from 25 to 26 March 2010 at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

This is Minister Krishna's first official visit to Singapore since his appointment as Minister of External Affairs in May 2009. Minister Krishna will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Professor S Jayakumar, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean. Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo will also meet Minister Krishna and host him to dinner at the Resorts World Sentosa. While in Singapore, Minister Krishna will visit the Nalanda-Sriwijaya Centre at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. Established in August 2009, the Nalanda-Sriwijaya Centre pursues research on historical interactions among Asian societies.
