In response to media queries on the reminder to eRegister (Thailand) posted on the MFA website yesterday, the MFA spokesman said:

"This is a timely reminder to Singaporeans to eRegister in view of recent reports about forthcoming demonstrations in Bangkok."

Reminder to eRegister (Thailand)

Singaporeans intending to travel to Thailand are advised to eRegister with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at http://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/ .
This will enable the Ministry and our Embassy in Bangkok to contact Singaporeans in case of emergencies.

Singaporeans are advised to monitor the local news and to take precautions for their personal safety as demonstrations are likely to be held from 12 March 2010 onwards in various locations in Bangkok. They are encouraged to purchase comprehensive medical and travel insurance.
