MFA Spokesman's Comments in Response to Media Enquiries on the Document Titled "Conclusion of the Tehran Conference on Disarmement and Non-proliferation, 17-18 April 2010"

In response to media enquiries on the document titled: "Conclusion of the Tehran Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation, 17-18 April 2010", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman said:

"Singapore attended the Tehran Conference but has formally disassociated itself from the 'Conclusion of the Tehran Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation, 17-18 April 2010', which the Iranian authorities claimed was adopted at the Tehran Conference.

We have done so by sending a Third Person Note to the Iranian Foreign Ministry today and we also intend to make our position clear to the United Nations in New York and Geneva.

We have taken this step because the document issued by the Iranian authorities is misleading.

There was no agreement among delegates to the Tehran Conference to issue such a document; neither was there any discussion on the contents of the document."
