MFA Press Statement: State Visit Of His Excellency Sir Anand Satyanand, Governor-General of New Zealand, 15-18 May 2010

The Governor-General of New Zealand, Sir Anand Satyanand, will make a State Visit to Singapore from 15 to 18 May 2010 at the invitation of President S R Nathan. Sir Anand will be accompanied by his wife, Lady Susan Satyanand, and an official delegation. This will be Sir Anand's first official visit to Singapore.

On 17 May 2010, President Nathan and Mrs Nathan will receive a call by Sir Anand and Lady Susan at the Istana and will host a State Banquet in their honour. Sir Anand will also meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and be hosted to lunch by Senior Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security S Jayakumar. While in Singapore, Sir Anand will visit the Changi Command and Control (C2) Centre, Kranji War Memorial, Singapore Polytechnic and Marina Bay Sands. Sir Anand and Lady Susan will also visit the National Orchid Garden and have an orchid named in their honour.

In addition, Sir Anand will visit the Singapore Turf Club to attend the 2010 Krisflyer International Sprint and 2010 Singapore Airlines International Cup on 16 May 2010, where President Nathan would be the Guest-of-Honour.
