MFA Spokesman's comments on travel to South Africa for the World Cup 2010

In view of the many reports on the crime situation, Singaporeans travelling to South Africa to attend World Cup 2010 matches or for other reasons are advised to eRegister with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at http://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/.

Singaporeans are also reminded to be vigilant and take all necessary precautions for their personal safety. Before travelling, they are encouraged to purchase comprehensive medical and travel insurance for the trip. Should they require any assistance, they can contact the Singapore High Commission in Pretoria at 001-27-(12) 430-6035 (office), +27 72 988 8759 (24-hours), or MFA Duty Office at 6379 8800 (24-hours).
