MFA Press Statement: Meeting between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Philippine President Benigno S.Aquino III in New York, 24 September 2010

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong called on the President of the Republic of the Philippines His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III on the sidelines of the 2nd ASEAN-United States Leaders' Meeting in New York on 24 September 2010.

In their first meeting since President Aquino's inauguration on 30 June 2010, the two leaders affirmed the warm and long-standing relations between Singapore and the Philippines and discussed ways to further bilateral cooperation. They also discussed regional developments and challenges. Prime Minister Lee invited President Aquino to make an introductory visit to Singapore at a convenient time.
