Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, who is in Beijing for a working visit, met with and was hosted to lunch by PRC Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on 15 September 2010. Minister Yeo and Minister Yang reaffirmed the good bilateral relations, and discussed ways to further promote bilateral ties, in particular cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Singapore and China. Both Ministers also exchanged views on various regional and international issues, including ASEAN-China relations and recent developments in East Asia. Minister Yeo invited Minister Yang to visit Singapore which Minister Yang accepted.
Minister Yeo will call on PRC State Councillor Dai Bingguo in the evening of 15 September 2010. State Councillor Dai will host Minister Yeo to dinner after the call.
