MFA Press Statement: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's Bilateral Meeting with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard at the Sidelines of the 17th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, Hanoi, Vietnam, 29 October 2010

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong met with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on 29 October 2010 at the sidelines of the 17th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Hanoi.

Prime Minister Lee and Prime Minister Gillard had a good exchange of views on Australia's engagement with ASEAN and global issues such as climate change. Both Prime Ministers reaffirmed the excellent state of relations between Singapore and Australia, especially cooperation in the areas of defence, trade and education.

Prime Minister Lee extended an invitation to Prime Minister Gillard to visit Singapore.
