President S R Nathan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written condolence messages to King Norodom Sihamoni and Prime Minister Hun Sen respectively, on the Cambodian stampede.

I was saddened to learn about the tragic stampede that has occurred in Phnom Penh, causing great loss of life in the wake of what should have been a joyous celebration. On behalf of the people of Singapore, I would like to convey our deepest condolences to the people of Cambodia. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the families of those who have perished or been injured.

Dear Samdech Hun Sen
I was very sad to hear about the stampede that occurred in Phnom Penh on 22 November 2010, during the celebration of the Water Festival.
On behalf of the Government of Singapore, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who died in the tragedy, and our sympathies to all those who were injured. Our thoughts are with the Cambodian people during this difficult period.
