On the occasion of the formation of a new government in Iraq, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has conveyed his congratulations to Nouri Al-Maliki on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Iraq. Prime Minister Lee expressed his hope that although many challenges remain, Iraq would be able to take the difficult but necessary steps towards stability and development under the leadership of Prime Minister Al-Maliki.
