The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our Embassy in Cairo continue to monitor the situation in Egypt closely.
The situation in Egypt remains unpredictable and there are concerns that it may deteriorate. The Ministry therefore advises Singaporeans to defer all non-essential travel to Egypt. Singaporeans currently in Egypt who are concerned about the security situation should leave as soon as possible if it is safe to do so. Some international flights to and from Egypt have been cancelled, but the international airport remains open. Singaporeans who may require assistance in leaving the country can contact the Singapore Embassy in Cairo or the MFA Duty Officer (24-hours) at:

For Singaporeans who choose to remain in Egypt, they are advised to observe the nationwide curfew in place from 1600 to 0800 (local time) and listen for announcements about any changes to the curfew requirements. They should also take the necessary precautions for their personal safety and if not done already, eRegister immediately. For their safety, Singaporeans are reminded to remain indoors as far as possible and avoid unnecessary travel within the city even when the curfew is not in place. They should be on high alert, monitor the news closely and keep in close touch with the Singaporean Embassy in Cairo.
