MFA Press Statement: Official Visit of the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic Of China His Excellency Dr Chui Sai On, Fernando, 10-13 January 2011

The Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China His Excellency Dr Chui Sai On, Fernando will make an official visit to Singapore from 10-13 January 2011 at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

This is Dr Chui's first official visit to Singapore in his capacity as the Macao Special Administrative Region Chief Executive. During the visit, Dr Chui will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, meet with Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo and be hosted to lunch by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Teo Chee Hean and breakfast by Minister for Health Khaw Boon Wan.

Besides the bilateral meetings, Dr Chui will also witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Civil Service College (CSC) and the Macao Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) together with the President of the Macao Legislative Assembly Mr Lau Cheok Va, Secretary for Administration and Justice Ms. Florinda Chan, DPM Teo and Permanent Secretary, Public Service Division Ms. Lim Soo Hoon. Under the auspice of the MOU, CSC will provide training programmes and consultancy service for the establishment of a new Training Centre by SAFP. Dr Chui will also take the opportunity to visit the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Housing and Development Board (HDB) as well as the Central Provident Fund Board (CPF).

Dr Chui will be accompanied by his wife Mrs Winnie Chui, President of the Legislative Assembly Mr Lau Cheok Va, Secretary for Administration and Justice Ms. Florinda Chan and senior officials from the Macao Special Administrative Region.
