Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, who is in Bangkok in conjunction with the 10th Coordinating Meeting of the Thailand-Singapore Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP-10), paid a courtesy call on Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva this afternoon. Prime Minister Abhisit and Minister Yeo reaffirmed the close relations between Singapore and Thailand, and the importance of institutional links such as CSEP in promoting closer relations between the two countries in various fields. They also discussed a number of regional and international issues.
Earlier today, Minister Yeo also met with Privy Councillors GEN Surayud Chulanont and ACM Siddhi Savetsila. The discussions focused on the close historical relationship between Singapore and Thailand.
Minister Yeo will meet the Singapore-Thailand Chamber of Commerce and the Singapore Club of Thailand this evening.
