Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed hosted Vice Governor of West Sumatra Muslim Kasim and his delegation to dinner this evening. Vice Governor Muslim is visiting Singapore from 23 to 26 March 2011. He is accompanied by a 23-member delegation comprising of Mayors, local leaders and senior officials from West Sumatra. Over dinner, both sides discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation and strengthen people to people links. The President and Vice President of the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the President of the Minangkabau Association of Singapore, representatives from the Malay Heritage Foundation, the Singapore Red Cross Society, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in the dinner.
