MFA Press Statement: Visit of Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K Shanmugam to Bali, Indonesia for the 16th Ministerial Conference and Commemorative Meeting of the 50th Anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement, 25-26 May 2011

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law, K Shanmugam attended the second day of the 16th Ministerial Conference and Commemorative Meeting of the 50th Anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), in Bali, Indonesia today. Minister Shanmugam paid an introductory call on Indonesian Foreign Minister Dr Raden Mohammad Marty Natalegawa, where they welcomed the warm state of bilateral relations and discussed Indonesia's chairmanship of and Indonesian priorities for ASEAN. Minister Shanmugam also met with his Thai counterpart Mr Kasit Piromya, where they discussed issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation and regional developments. Minister Shanmugam also called on his Egyptian counterpart and current NAM Chair Dr Nabil El-Arabi, where they exchanged views on recent developments in the Middle East and North Africa.

Minister Shanmugam leaves Bali, Indonesia for Singapore today.
