President S R Nathan has conveyed a congratulatory message to the newly appointed President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang. Singapore and Vietnam are long-standing friends. Our bilateral relationship has flourished over the years. Economic ties are robust and underpinned by the Connectivity Framework Agreement. Singapore is now the third largest investor in Vietnam with the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks a symbol of our strong economic cooperation. We also work closely in ASEAN and other regional and international fora.
