MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY AND MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
OFFICIAL VISIT OF VICE PREMIER WANG QISHAN OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, 26-28 JULY 2011
At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean, Vice Premier Wang Qishan of the People's Republic of China will lead a delegation of Ministers and senior officials to Singapore from 26-28 July 2011. He will co-chair the 13th Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Joint Steering Council (JSC), 4th Tianjin Eco-city (TEC) JSC and the 8th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) meetings with DPM Teo on 27 July.
The SIP and TEC JSC Meetings will review the progress of their respective projects and chart new directions for their future development. The JCBC meeting will discuss existing and new areas of bilateral cooperation. The JCBC meeting will include a Welcome Dinner to be hosted by DPM Teo for Vice Premier Wang and attended by relevant Ministers on both sides. DPM Teo and Vice Premier Wang will also jointly witness the signing of the Protocol to Amend the China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement and the Supplemental to the China Banking Regulatory Commission-Monetary Authority of Singapore Memorandum of Understanding - Statement of Cooperation on Crisis Management.
During his visit to Singapore, Vice Premier Wang will also call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and meet former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. DPM, Minister for Finance and Minister for Manpower Tharman Shanmugaratnam will host Vice Premier Wang to dinner.
