Finance Ministers from Singapore, the UK, Australia, Canada, and South Africa have written an editorial article urging countries to make "hard decisions on spending, entitlements and taxation in countries with large budget deficits".
The article, which was published in the Financial Times on Monday, was written on the initiative of Mr George Osborne, UK chancellor of the Exchequer, and Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister. It was co-authored by the finance ministers from Australia, Canada and South Africa.
