MFA Spokesman's Comments in response to media queries

In response to media queries, the MFA Spokesman said:

"MFA and the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore have been in regular contact on the status of the investigation into the case involving two Singaporean women who were detained temporarily for an alleged immigration offence and the way they were treated during detention. The understanding is that the outcome of the investigation would be conveyed to Singapore as soon as it is ready. This has not been received to date. Following media reports in Malaysia that the Malaysian authorities have provided a reply to a Parliamentary question on the same case, MFA has asked the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore to provide more information."
