MFA Spokesman's comments in response to media queries for an update on the floods in Bangkok

In response to media queries for an update on the floods in Bangkok, the MFA Spokesman said :

 


"The situation remains very serious, and we continue to advise Singaporeans to defer non-essential travel to Bangkok until the flood situation improves. While Don Muang Airport has suspended all flights, the Suvarnabhumi International Airport remains operational. If Singaporeans in Bangkok have any concerns about their personal safety, we strongly urge them to consider moving to higher ground or areas unaffected by the flooding.

The Singapore Embassy in Bangkok continues to keep in close touch with Singaporeans in Bangkok. Singaporeans who are travelling to or in Thailand and have yet to eRegister with MFA should do so at http://eregister.mfa.gov.sg. This will allow us to keep you updated on latest developments and contact you should the need arise."
