MFA: Singaporeans advised to continue to defer non-essential travel to Bangkok

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has warned that all districts in Bangkok still remain at risk of flooding and significant parts of Bangkok are still affected by the floods. The Thai authorities are currently making all necessary efforts to stem the flooding and prevent more water from entering Bangkok.

Singaporeans should thus continue to defer non-essential travel to Bangkok. If Singaporeans in Bangkok have any concerns about their personal safety, they should take all necessary precautions, including consider moving to higher ground or areas unaffected by the flooding.

The Singapore Embassy in Bangkok remains in close contact with Singaporeans in Bangkok and has been advising them to stay vigilant, heed the instructions of the local authorities and closely monitor local news. Singaporeans travelling to or in Thailand and have yet to eRegister with MFA should do so at http://eregister.mfa.gov.sg.
