MFA Press Statement: Congratulatory Letters From President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to the Fourteenth Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Of Malaysia, 13 December 2011

President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written congratulatory letters to His Majesty Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, on his assumption to the post of Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia for the second time. The letters are attached below.

On behalf of the people of the Republic of Singapore, I have the honour to extend to Your Majesty and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong our warmest congratulations on Your Majesty's coronation as the fourteenth Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia. This is a truly historical occasion as Your Majesty will be installed as the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong for a second time.

Singapore and Malaysia share a very close and unique friendship, and our ties have strengthened significantly over the years. I am confident that under Your Majesty's reign, Malaysia will continue to prosper and progress, and our bilateral relations will broaden and deepen further.
