The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Her Excellency Yingluck Shinawatra, will make an official visit to Singapore on 8 December 2011 at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. This visit is part of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's introductory tour of the ASEAN countries since she assumed office in August 2011. This visit underscores the good bilateral relations between Singapore and Thailand, and reaffirms the friendship between the two countries.
Following the official Welcome Ceremony at the Istana, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will separately call on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee. Prime Minister Lee will also host an official dinner in honour of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. During the visit, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens where an orchid will be named in her honour.
