The Speaker of the Riau Islands (KEPRI) Province Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Nur Syafriadi called on Minister of State (MOS) for Foreign Affairs Masagos Zulkifli at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 6 February 2012. They had a general discussion on strengthening ties between KEPRI and Singapore.
Speaker Nur, who is visiting Singapore from 6 to 8 February 2012 at the invitation of MOS Masagos, was accompanied by a delegation comprising KEPRI DPRD Commission Chairmen, as well as the Speakers of the local parliaments of Batam, Karimun, Anambas and Lingga, which are a part of KEPRI. His visit is part of the regular exchange of visits between Singapore and KEPRI.
While in Singapore, Speaker Nur will pay a courtesy call on Speaker of Parliament Michael Palmer and attend a "Meet-the-People" session hosted by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Manpower Hawazi Daipi. Speaker Nur will also visit the Economic Development Board (EDB), Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) and Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
