MFA Press Statement: Working Visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg H.E. Mr Jean Asselborn, 13-14 February 2012

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Mr Jean Asselborn made a working visit to Singapore from 13 - 14 February 2012.

Mr Asselborn met Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Mr Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam and Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Mr Heng Chee How, in his capacity as NTUC Deputy Secretary General.

At their meeting, Mr Asselborn and Mr Shanmugam reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations between Singapore and Luxembourg and exchanged views on recent developments in Asia and Europe. Mr Shanmugam welcomed Luxembourg's intention to join the Global Governance Group, an initiative for small and medium UN member states to discuss matters regarding global governance.
