MFA Press Statement:: Introductory Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh to Singapore, 4-6 March 2012

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong this morning, as part of his introductory visit to Singapore from 4 to 6 March 2012. During the call, PM Lee and Foreign Minister Minh reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations and exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues.


Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam also met with Foreign Minister Minh this evening. At the meeting, both leaders expressed confidence in the strong and multifaceted relations between Singapore and Vietnam. Both sides also discussed strengthening cooperation in areas such as tourism, education, and agriculture, and exchanged views on a wide range of issues including developments in the region. Minister Shanmugam will host dinner for Foreign Minister Minh and his delegation this evening.
