MFA Press Statement: Introductory visit of Minister for Foreign Affairs K Shanmugam to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, 27-28 March 2012

Minister for Foreign Affairs K Shanmugam will be making his introductory visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic from 27 to 28 March 2012 at the invitation of Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongloun Sisoulith.

Minister Shanmugam will call on Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, who will also host lunch. Minister Shanmugam will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Singapore-based charity Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES) and the Lao Zoo, to establish a Bear and Wildlife Protection Programme in Laos.

Minister Shanmugam will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
