Australian FM Bob Carr met with Minister Shanmugam

Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Bob Carr met with Minister K Shanmugam on 29 March 2012

Mr Bob Carr, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, met Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam on 29 March 2012. Minister Carr was also hosted to dinner by Minister Shanmugam. During their meeting, Minister Carr and Minister Shanmugam reaffirmed the longstanding relations between Singapore and Australia and noted the substantive cooperation in the areas of defence, trade and investment, and people-to-people relations. Both Ministers also had an exchange of views on developments in the Asia-Pacific region.

Minister Carr is in Singapore for an official visit from 29 to 30 March 2012. He is accompanied by his wife, Mrs Helena Carr, and officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Apart from the meeting with and dinner hosted by Minister Shanmugam, Minister Carr will also call on PM Lee Hsien Loong on 30 March 2012.
