Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Mr Edmond Haxhinasto, who is on an official visit to Singapore from 6 to 7 March 2012 called on Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam this evening. Minister Shanmugam also hosted Mr Haxhinasto and his delegation to an official dinner.
During the meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed the friendly bilateral relations between Singapore and Albania and agreed that as small countries, our two countries shared many interests. They also agreed to explore ways of deepening bilateral cooperation on various fronts, including trade and investments and technical cooperation under the Singapore Cooperation Programme.
The two leaders also exchanged views on developments in their respective regions.
Tomorrow, Mr Haxhinasto will pay a courtesy call on Speaker of Parliament Mr Michael Palmer and meet with Singapore businessmen at a networking luncheon hosted by the Singapore Business Federation.
