Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit Japan from 13 to 18 March 2012 at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
During his visit, MOS Masagos will meet his counterpart, Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Ryuji Yamane, members of the Japan-Singapore Parliamentary Friendship League, senior Japanese Diet members and academics. MOS Masagos will also meet a group of Singaporeans who are based in Tokyo. In addition, MOS Masagos will visit Osaka, where he will meet Governor Ichiro Matsui.
On 17 March 2012, MOS Masagos will officiate the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a new multi-purpose hall in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture. The project is funded by donations collected by the Singapore Red Cross after the March 11th Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011.
MOS Masagos will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
