New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who is in Singapore for a two-day visit, was hosted to dinner at the Istana earlier this evening by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. PM Lee and Mayor Bloomberg expressed satisfaction at the excellent state of cooperation and exchanged views on international developments.
Earlier in the day, Mayor Bloomberg and the New York City Departments of Transportation, City Planning and Parks and Recreation received the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize 2012 in recognition of their efforts in orchestrating the transformation of New York City in the last decade. While in Singapore, Mayor Bloomberg will also attend the 15th World Conference on Tobacco or Health organised by the Health Promotion Board on 22 March 2012.
