The Government of the Republic of Singapore, with the agreement of the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, has appointed Mr Jayantha Dharmadasa as Singapore’s Honorary Consul-General
in Colombo with jurisdiction over Sri Lanka.
Mr Dharmadasa, 63, is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nawaloka Hospitals PLC, a leading private hospital in Sri Lanka. The hospital is part of the Nawaloka Holdings, of which Mr Dharmadasa is also the Chairman. Nawaloka Holdings has commercial interests that span across health care, manufacturing, construction and aviation. Mr Dharmadasa was Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket from 2005 to 2007 and President of the Asian Cricket Council from 2006 to 2007.
