MFA Press Statement: Visit By The Govenor And Mayor Of Vienna Dr Michael Häupl, 16-18 April 2012

The Governor and Mayor of Vienna, Dr Michael Häupl, called on President Tony Tan and was hosted to lunch by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier this afternoon. In their meetings, the leaders reaffirmed the good relations between Singapore and Vienna, noting that both cities shared many complementarities as hubs in growing regions. The leaders also exchanged views on strengthening economic, research and cultural cooperation between Singapore and Vienna.

This evening, Governor Häupl will attend the Vienna Gala Reception at the Raffles Hotel, organised by the Austrian Embassy in Singapore. Senior Minister of State for Information, Communication and the Arts & Environment and Water Resources Grace Fu will be the Guest of Honour.
