Dear Prime Minister Ayrault,

Please accept my warmest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of France. I am confident you will bring your long experience as Mayor of Nantes and a member of the National Assembly to bear as you lead France during this challenging period. France will need to make difficult decisions and work closely with its partners in Europe to restore growth. I wish you well in your endeavours.

Singapore and France enjoy strong bilateral relations, based on our common interests and shared perspectives. We work closely together through multilateral platforms like the Asia-Europe Meeting and the ASEAN-EU dialogue. I look forward to working with you to enhance our wide-ranging cooperation, and to meeting you soon.

With best wishes,

Yours sincerely,

[LEE HSIEN LOONG]

His Excellency Jean-Marc Ayrault
Prime Minister
French Republic
