Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs of the Republic of Iraq His Excellency Dr Hussain Al-Shahristani called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana today. During the meeting, Prime Minister Lee and DPM Shahristani discussed Iraq’s economic potential and other areas of cooperation that both countries could explore. DPM Shahristani welcomed Singapore companies to explore opportunities in Iraq. He also expressed his appreciation for the technical assistance that Singapore had provided to Iraqi officials. Prime Minister Lee hoped that Iraq would be able to send more officials to Singapore for training.
DPM Shahristani also met with Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang. Discussions focused on Iraq’s energy sector and possible economic opportunities for Singapore.
