Singapore Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Lui Tuck Yew and Mrs Lui visited Brunei from 14-16 July 2012 at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, to attend His Majesty’s 66th birthday celebration. [Photo: MFA]Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Lui Tuck Yew and Mrs Lui are visiting Brunei Darussalam from 14-16 July 2012 at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah to attend His Majesty’s 66th birthday celebration on 15 July 2012. Minister Lui and Mrs Lui had a joint audience with His Majesty and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha. Minister Lui conveyed birthday congratulations from Singapore’s leaders to His Majesty, and reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and close ties between Singapore and Brunei. In addition, Minister Lui conveyed to His Majesty Singapore’s support of Brunei’s chairmanship of ASEAN next year.
Minister Lui also met Bruneian Minister of Communications Pehin Dato Haji Abdullah Bakar. The Ministers discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between agencies under their purview.
In addition, Minister Lui and Mrs Lui attended the Royal Guard of Honour Ceremony and the Investiture Ceremony earlier today, and will attend the Royal Banquet this evening.
