Congratulatory Message from President Tony Tan Keng Yam to President Pranab Mukherjee
13 August 2012
His Excellency Pranab Mukherjee
President
Republic of India
Your Excellency,
On behalf of the people of Singapore, please accept my warmest congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency and the people of India on the occasion of India’s 65th Independence Day.
Singapore and India enjoy deep historical ties and strong links. Regular exchanges of high-level visits, most recently that of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Singapore in November 2011 and of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to India in July 2012, have contributed in no small part to the excellent relations between our two countries. I am confident that Singapore and India will build upon the momentum of positive engagement and continue to explore new areas for collaboration.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
DR TONY TAN KENG YAM
