Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen and Mrs Ivy Ng are visiting Brunei Darussalam as Special Representatives of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to attend the wedding of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah, the daughter of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Minister and Mrs Ng attended the Royal Bersanding Ceremony this morning and will attend the Royal Banquet this evening, before returning to Singapore tomorrow. At the Bersanding ceremony, Minister Ng conveyed warm congratulations from PM Lee and Singapore’s leaders to His Majesty the Sultan and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, and to the Royal Couple. Minister Ng also reaffirmed the strong and excellent relationship between Singapore and Brunei.
