MFA Press Statement: Presentation of Credentials of Singapore's Ambassador to Denmark (12 Oct 2012)

Ambassador A. Selverajah presented his credentials to Queen Margrethe II of Denmark at the Fredensborg Palace on 12 October 2012.  He replaces Ambassador Kemal Siddique as Singapore's representative to Denmark, and will be resident in Singapore.

Ambassador Selverajah has had a distinguished career in the Singapore Foreign Service since July 1979. He was appointed as Singapore’s Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines from 2008 to 2012.  From 2003 to 2008, he served as Singapore’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, with concurrent accreditation as Ambassador to Greece from 2004 to 2006.  He was also Singapore’s Ambassador to the European Communities, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and the Holy See from 1999 to 2003.  Ambassador Selverajah was recently appointed as Dean of the MFA Diplomatic Academy.

Ambassador Selverajah was awarded the Public Administration (Silver) Medal in November 2000.  He was conferred the decoration of the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Gregory by Pope John Paul II in October 2002, and the Order of Sikatuna with the rank of Datu (Gold Distinction) by Philippine President Benigno S Aquino in February 2012.
