MFA Press Statement: Presentati​on of Credential​s of Singapore'​s Ambassador to Hungary (8 Oct 2012)

Ambassador Justice (Ret.) MPH Rubin presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Hungary H.E. János Áder at the Sándor Palace on 8 October 2012. Ambassador Justice (Ret.) MPH Rubin replaces Ambassador Ng Ser Miang as Singapore's representative to Hungary, and will be resident in Singapore.

Ambassador Justice (Ret.) MPH Rubin was appointed as Singapore’s High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa from October 2005 to February 2009, with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Botswana, the Republic of Namibia, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Kingdom of Swaziland. He then served as Singapore’s High Commissioner to New Zealand from April 2009 to June 2012 and was concurrently accredited to the Republic of the Fiji Islands from August 2010 to January 2012. He is concurrently an Ambassador-at-Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Justice (Ret.) MPH Rubin had a distinguished legal career before joining the Singapore Foreign Service in 2005. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 1974. He served in the Straits Times Group and was in private law practice before he was appointed to the Bench of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1991 as a Judicial Commissioner. He was then made a Supreme Court Judge in 1994. Justice (Ret.) MPH Rubin retired from the Singapore Judiciary in February 2005. He was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal in 2005 by the President of the Republic of Singapore for his distinguished contributions to the Singapore Judiciary.
