Minister Shanmugam called on Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Jakarta this morning. They reaffirmed the warm and longstanding ties between Singapore and Indonesia. They welcomed the progress made in bilateral cooperation, and discussed ways to further strengthen Singapore-Indonesia ties. They also exchanged views on developments in ASEAN and the regional architecture.
In the afternoon, Minister Shanmugam had separate meetings with GOLKAR Chairman Aburizal Bakrie and GERINDRA Patron Prabowo Subianto. They had a general exchange of views on developments in Indonesia.
