MFA Press Statement: State Visit of President Tony Tan Keng Yam to Indonesia, 27 November – 1 December 2012

President Tony Tan Keng Yam, who is in Indonesia on a State Visit, arrived in Yogyakarta today. President Tan visited Gadjah Mada University (UGM), where he was hosted by UGM Rector Dr Pratikno. President Tan was given a briefing on UGM and met with UGM students. President Tan also visited a Mercy Relief project in Magelang, Central Java. He was given a briefing on Mercy Relief’s humanitarian assistance cooperation with the local government and communities following the October 2010 Mount Merapi eruptions. President also toured Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Magelang.

This evening, President will meet with and be hosted to dinner by the Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X. President Tan returns to Singapore tomorrow.
