At the sidelines of the12th Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) Council of Ministers (COM) Meeting in Gurgaon, India, on 2 November 2012, Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli congratulated India’s Minister of External Affairs Salman Khurshid on his recent appointment and India’s successful chairmanship of IOR-ARC.
SMS Masagos and Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs Richard Marles from Australia reaffirmed the excellent bilateral cooperation, and exchanged views on the delayed import of livestock from Australia for the annual Korban in Singapore this year. SMS informed Marles that the slaughter of the livestock this year was done in conformity with Australia’s new regulatory framework, and vets were present at the Korban stations.
SMS also exchanged views on broadening bilateral cooperation with Minister of Foreign Affairs Samson Ongeri of Kenya and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pierrot Rajaonarivelo from Madagascar separately.
