(Photo: MFA)The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Royal Kingdom of Norway, His Excellency Mr. Espen Barth Eide, visited Singapore on 7 November 2012 and called on Minister Shanmugam at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to the call, Minister Eide and the Norwegian delegation were also hosted to lunch by Minister in Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Grace Fu.
The Ministers had a good and frank exchange of views, with topics of discussion ranging from developments in Europe, Asia and ASEAN to global issues such as the leadership transition in China and the US Presidential Elections. The Ministers also re-affirmed the warm bilateral ties and close cooperation shared between Singapore and Norway which stretches across the political, economic, and the maritime sectors, and welcomed opportunites to further explore bilateral collaboration.
