MFA Press Statement: Working Visit to Singapore by the Vice President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, His Excellency Danilo Astori, 8 to 10 November 2012

The Vice President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, His Excellency Danilo Astori, will make a Working Visit to Singapore from 8 to 10 November 2012, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam. This will be the first high-level visit from Uruguay to Singapore.

Vice President Astori will be accompanied by an official and business delegation. On 9 November 2012, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Charles Chong will host Vice President Astori, who is concurrently the President of the Uruguayan General Assembly, to a luncheon. Vice President Astori will also meet with Deputy Prime Minister Shanmugaratnam, and Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang. In addition, Vice President Astori will attend a business seminar organised by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore on "Trade and Investment Opportunities in Uruguay".

During his stay in Singapore, Vice President Astori will also visit PSA, the Institute of Technical Education West Campus, and the Urban Redevelopment Authority.
