Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will make an official visit to the Republic of Turkey from 3 to 5 January 2013 at the invitation of Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoğlu.
During the visit, Minister Shanmugam will meet President Abdullah Gül, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Cemil Çiçek, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, his counterpart Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoğlu, and other Turkish leaders. Minister Shanmugam will also lay a wreath at the Atatürk Mausoleum (Anitkabır).
In conjunction with the visit, Minister Shanmugam will deliver an address on“The Rise of Asia in International Relations” at the Fifth Annual Ambassadors' Conference organised by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Shanmugam will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
