MFA Press Statement: Visit of the Minister for Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Mr Gita Wirjawan

Indonesian Minister for Trade Mr Gita Wirjawan paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam this afternoon. They exchanged views on the prospects for the global economy, developments in the Asian region and opportunities to enhance bilateral relations.

Mr Gita also called on Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Lim Hng Kiang earlier in the afternoon. They discussed ways to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, and exchanged views on economic developments in Singapore, Indonesia and the region.

Mr Gita is visiting Singapore from 23 to 24 January 2013 in conjunction with a speaking engagement organised by the Singapore Management University.
