On behalf of the people of Singapore, I extend my heartfelt condolences to you and the people of Venezuela on the passing of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
President Chavez was a leader who was fully dedicated to Venezuela's development and improving the lives of ordinary Venezuelans. His commitment to social and economic development extended beyond Venezuela to other countries in Latin America.
Our thoughts are with you and the Venezuelan people during this time of national mourning.
