Dear Excellency,

Please accept my warmest congratulations on your appointment as the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

You take over at an important juncture in China’s development. China is the world’s second largest economy and an important player on the international stage. I am confident that your policies will bring continued stability and progress for China and its people.

Singapore and China enjoy excellent ties, underpinned by frequent high-level exchanges, robust economic cooperation and close people-to-people links.  We share many interests and challenges as we strive to better our peoples’ lives. I therefore look forward to working with you and your colleagues to enhance our close cooperation.

I remember warmly our candid discussions when we met in Beijing last September.  I hope to reciprocate your kind hospitality by hosting you in Singapore soon.

Yours sincerely,

LEE HSIEN LOONG

His Excellency Li Keqiang
