MFA Press Statement: Passing of Bangladesh President Mohammad Zillur Rahman

1 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to express its profound sadness at the passing of the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mohammad Zillur Rahman this evening at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. He was 85.

2 The Ministry would like to extend its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the Government of Bangladesh and the people of Bangladesh during this time of national mourning.

3 The Ministry is working closely with the High Commission of Bangladesh on the arrangements for the late President’s body to be flown back to his country tomorrow.
